Playover Day

photos - storytime in the sunshine, Baby R

The sun shone again today. We had a busy day of entertaining today. I was back in action at the gym after a 4 day break from classes over the holiday weekend. The kids were happy to go along, knowing that we were returning home for a playover with cousin I and our friend G. They all arrived (mommies and kids) at 11am and we had a play and lunch together. These kinds of play dates are never without one or two moments of crying. And it seems like most of the time it is me, managing my children's ability to share. At one point, Schmoo had all three of the little kids organized in her room doing a picture (stamps, stickers). She likes to play the big helper role with there are other kids visiting. Her biggest job is serving everyone lunch. The mood was good for the most part though and G and her mom, A left around 1:30pm and everyone else went for quiet time.

Schmoo slept again this afternoon. She must be growing. Cousin I took forever to settle down in the suite, but eventually went for a nap. Bean had a nice big sleep too and woke up relatively happy. Auntie E got a chance for a big walk in the sunshine with her baby while I stayed with the sleeping children. I spent the afternoon doing some reading for my volunteer work. The kids had fun playing some more after they all woke up and Auntie E and the gang headed home just as we were getting ready for dinner.

Papa is at soccer tonight - his final game of the season, so I gave the kids a bath and bedtime story on my own. Schmoo is still playing in her room. I thought I'd give her some extra time to play as she won't be tired yet. I've got the movie Michael Clayton to watch so now that the blog and my dinner is done, I'll tuck Schmoo into bed and settle myself into the couch.

Papa picked up the cruise documents in town today, so we're all set to go in May. I think I've got all the travel plans organized, including our hotel stays in Vancouver on either side of the cruise departure. Next on the list is to get the passports renewed this week and then we're good to go!

Schmoo's Favourite Parts of the Day
Favourite - playing with cousin I, G, Bean and baby R and making a picture for Mama
Not Favourite - when cousin I ripped her stamp and when Mama took the cards away
