The Activities
So many will know that I am a big fan of the birthday week. This year, I was able to enjoy an extended birthday, celebrating more like a birthday month with my trip to the Big Smoke a couple of weeks after my actual birthday. So I think it's only appropriate that my kids get to celebrate an extended birthday as well. Today I began preparations. We went to Safeway to order the Cars birthday cake for the birthday party on Sunday. I spent the afternoon making chocolate cupcakes for the kids to take to daycare tomorrow, so all the kids there can sing to Bean.
The day as a whole was pretty good. We spent the morning at the mother's group. There were even a few cookies left over from the mother's table so Schmoo and Bean got to eat one on the way to Safeway. We had a lovely lunch at home and a nice quiet time - Bean slept and Schmoo stayed in her room. After quiet time, we took Airlie for her walk through the tunnel and down the hill. Schmoo even took her running down the hill to give her "energy". We came home and had a lovely pizza dinner with some friends who came over for a play. The kids all played nicely together and C and I had a good visit. The kids went to bed smoothly and now I'm getting myself organized to snuggle down on the couch to watch this week's episode of Lost. Papa is out with his friend L for the evening so the house is quiet. I guess I'll endure letting the dog out before my show for her bark-fest so that I have one less thing to worry about.
Schmoo's Favourite Parts of the Day
Favourite - playing with her friend C at supper time
Not Favourite - when C decided she didn't want to play anymore
Thoughts on the Day
The mild weather is so great. I know there is probably one more snow fall and some cold weather on the way this month, but it's nice to be able to get out and enjoy the sunshine. The longer days (and brighter late afternoons) is a wonderful change. We had another really nice walk today with the dog. I hope we can keep that new activity up. The alarm clocks seem to be working as well in the morning and at quiet time. Bean is still timing his poo's for when he has a pull up on, but his pees are still going great. I'm really looking forward to my day off tomorrow to spend some time at the gym and finish my birthday shopping for Bean. We picked up the bed frame today, so I need to pick up some twin sheets (can't decide between Cars or Thomas) tomorrow so he can start to sleep in it this weekend. He's such a big boy!
