Winter again

The Activities

We woke up this morning to winter, again! It had snowed all night and continued to snow all day. What a change from yesterday. Today was the usual busy Monday. Bean and I were the special helpers at Schmoo's preschool today, so we spent the morning with her. She loves it when we're there and is proud to help deliver and organize the snack. Bean even started playing with a couple of the kids today. In the past he's always kept to himself.

We came home for lunch and Papa joined us. Good news for Mama, as this meant that Bean could stay home for a nice big nap instead of coming with me to watch Schmoo at gymnastics. I dropped her off and then headed to the furniture store to order Bean's new big boy bed! Hopefully it will be ready for his birthday in two weeks. I picked up some groceries and made it back in time to watch the last 20 minutes of gymnastics.

The rest of the afternoon was up and down. Schmoo continues to be miserable for large periods of time and is easily frustrated. I tried to get her to help me make banana muffins, but even that exercise turned into a struggle. She did manage to have a bit of quiet time in the afternoon, giving us both a break from each other. Bean had a nice big nap, but still woke up on the wrong side of the bed. By supper time it felt like they were working together to drive me crazy and they both ended up hardly eating their dinner and not getting to watch Babar again.

I headed out at 6pm to the gym and returned to a quiet house. Papa and I snuggled up on the couch to eat dinner and watch a movie....what a surprise! The skies are supposed to be sunny again tomorrow.

Thoughts on the Day

I started to search the internet today on suggestions to deal with Schmoo's talking back. I obviously need some different tactics as she continues to push my buttons every day. She was sweet as pie when I took her to gymnastics on her own today.
