Spring in the Garden

The Activities
Today was a play day with Papa. Uncle C arrived at 9am to take me away for a ski day, leaving the kids at home with Papa to play in the garden. They watched soccer and Jamie Oliver at Home with Papa and spent most of their day out in the front yard with Papa, digging in the garden. Schmoo hates it when her pants get wet, so she rolled her pants up (see photo). Airlie and Steed spent time outside too, but were relegated to the front deck when they turned into rabid beasts with their barking at the neighbour's new Newfoundlander dog. Not great news, as it sounds like he is an outside dog, so we'll all get to enjoy Airlie's hysterical barking every time she goes out for a pee.

Uncle C and I had a great ski day. The sun peaked in and out all day and the snow was still soft. We skied right until 3:30pm, with a stop for lunch and then headed home. It was nice to get some pointers on my skiing and C even let me try out some big fat skis that he's borrowing at the moment. Everyone was happy to see us and after dinner, Papa and Uncle C took the kids outside to wash Uncle C's truck. It was amazing how light out it still was at 5:30pm after daylight savings last night.
The kids came in for a big bath and stories on the couch with Uncle C before bedtime. They were both tucked in by 7pm. We'll see what the change in time brings with at wake-up call tomorrow. We've had a nice evening having dinner and catching up.

Schmoo's Favourite and Not Favourite Parts of the Day

Favourite - seeing Uncle C
Not Favourite - none

Thoughts on the Day

It felt so great to get out on the ski hill again today. I'm hoping that Uncle C and I can take the kids up to the hill together on Tuesday this week while he's here, so I can get Schmoo out again. It will be interesting to see how life evolves with the new dog next door. Airlie sure does put on a good "rabid dog" impersonation when there's another dog in sight.
