The Activities
It amazes me how quickly another Monday comes around. Today was another busy one. Schmoo had a great morning at preschool. She came home with a styrofoam cup with dirt in it and pronounced that it would grow "hair". The teacher explained that they had planted grass seed. So it is sitting proudly in the window, waiting to grow. Bean had a great time at the rec centre while I was at my aerobox class. Hard work for Mama, good times for Bean.
We picked Schmoo up from school and headed to the mall to meet Uncle C for lunch. These outings sometimes don't go so great. We had to make a pit stop in the washroom for Schmoo and while we were waiting for her, I realized that we were no longer in possession of brown seal (who is actually grey). Bean had left him out on the bench in the mall. Luckily he was still there when we returned 10 minutes later. I was already bracing myself for the meltdown of the year, should he have not been there when we got back. Lunch had its own moments of Bean spilling his juice all over himself, Schmoo spilling ketchup all over her shirt, Bean having a fit because I broke his chicken finger to see if it was too hot. Not the warm fuzzy experience I had hoped for. Oh well, we soldiered on.
Schmoo had a good gymnastics class and I spent most of the time trying to rush Bean to the bathroom so he wouldn't poo in his underpants. This process is much more complicated this time around, it seems. I did get him to do a bit of his business in the toilet, but we did manage to throw out two pairs of underpants and have two pairs of regular pants to wash when we got home. Everyone was ready for some quiet time when we got back to the house.
Papa was home when we got back so I snuck out to pick up some groceries and when I got back from that Auntie E had arrived with her kids. We hosted a potluck dinner tonight with their family and a couple of visitors they have here to help Uncle R with his next firing. The kids did great playing and eating their dinner together and everyone headed home at 7:30pm. We tucked the kids in bed and took the dogs around the block for a quick leg stretch before settling in for the evening.
Schmoo's Favourite Parts of the Day
Favourite - seeing cousin I
Not Favourite - when Bean pinched her on the couch at supper time
Thoughts on the Day
I'm at a loss for thoughts tonight. Mondays are so busy, I'm just happy to see bedtime come. Tuesdays are our "free" days so I'm not sure what we'll get up to tomorrow. We had talked about taking the kids up to the ski hill, but Uncle C has pulled a muscle in his neck and isn't moving around very happily.
