The bags are packed....

and Schmoo is ready to go! She's had her Barbie suitcase packed for a week, ready for her two sleepovers at Auntie E's house this weekend. This morning we did a real pack, organizing her clothes, picking her video and books and put everything by the stairs, ready for the morning. Bean is excited about his trip too. He kept telling people we met (the daycare workers at the gym, friends we saw at the gym) that he was going on a trip with his Mama and Papa.

We had a slower start to today. The gym had told me there wouldn't be as many spaces today, so I decided to miss the class at 9:15am and took the kids in at 10:30am and just went for a run on the treadmill. So they got a leisurely morning of play around the house. I started to get my things organized for our trip. The kids actually started asking to go to the gym after a while, a pleasant change from their usual protests about going.

After the gym, we went to the store to pick up a few things (pullups, bread, minigo yoghurts) and went to Quizno's for lunch. The kids always enjoy eating their sandwich at the store, instead of taking it home. Schmoo always inhales her part of the sandwich and Bean picks away at his, rarely eating more than about a quarter. We headed home for a quick shower and then headed back into town for a meeting. It is rather difficult to have these meetings with the kids in tow, but unfortunately I'm left with little option. I brought the computer along today, in hopes that I could get them to watch a movie while I talked. They were still distractable. They fought over the snack and then Schmoo came over and announced to the group that she had poo in her panties! Thank goodness I'm just a volunteer, who still does more than my share.

We came home after 3pm and I insisted the kids have some quiet time to give us all a break. Bean ended up falling asleep, although my intention was for him not to sleep. Schmoo was on the verge, when I became aware of the quiet level from her room, so I went in to tell her not to sleep. The last thing I needed tonight was her to be bouncing off the walls at 10pm. It's probably best that Bean slept today, as he'll probably not get a chance to sleep this weekend in the afternoons. The rest of the afternoon was finishing up the movie - Shrek the 3rd, watching Babar and having a big bath (which means a hair wash) before an early bedtime. The bags are pretty much packed and hopefully we can have a quiet night watching Michael Clayton on DVD.

No blog for the next few nights, but I'll have a full recap of the conference on Sunday night after we get home and settled!

Schmoo's Favourite Parts of the Day
Favourite - watching Shrek
Not Favourite - when Bean tried to take the Horton book (this comment was told to me with a lot of giggling)
